James Smothers
EDDYVILLE, Ky. - Services for James Hershell Smothers, 72,
of Kuttawa will be at 1:30 p.m. today at First Baptist
Church in Kuttawa with the Rev. J.D. Ship officiating and
at 4:30 p.m. today at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Camden,
Tenn. Burial will be in Cross Roads Cemetery. Mr. Smothers
died at 8:34 p.m. Thursday at Caldwell County Hospital. He
was a member of First Baptist Church in Kuttawa and Masonic
Lodge No. 731 of Bruceton, Tenn. Surviving are his wife,
Geneva Robinson Smothers; a son, Lawrence Ray Smothers of
New Johnsonville, Tenn.; three daughters, Patricia Ann King
of Camden, Anita Diane Riffle of Lexington, Tenn., and
Bonnie Sue Herrin of Paris, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Linda
Bryant of Kuttawa; a brother, Millard Smothers of Camden;
three sisters, Viva Arnold of Martin, Tenn., Elah Jones and
Louise Forrestt, both of Camden, eight grandchildren and
two step-grandchildren. His parents were James and Julia
Abbott Smothers. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 12:45
p.m. today at Lakeland Funeral Home-Eddyville Chapel.1
