Clarksville man injured in crash
SULPHUR SPRINGS — Roscoe A. Norwood, 63, of Clarksville,
was injured here late'Monday afternoon after his pickup
truck overturned near the intersection of North Church
Street and Loop 301. Norwood was first taken to Hopkins
County Memorial Hospital in Sulphur Springs and later
transferred to Baylor Hospital in Dallas. He was reported
in serious condition early Tuesday in the hospital's
intensive care unit.

CLARKSVILLE — Roscoe Norwood of Clarksville died Saturday
at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas from injuries received
in an automobile accident Nov. 11. Services were to be at
2:30 p.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Clarksville
with the Rev. Clint Sonnamaker and the Rev. Don Means
officiating. Burial was to be in Fairview Cemetery under
the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Mr. Norwood was
born Aug. 13, 1915, in Lamar County, son of Will and Edna
Norwood. He was a city employee. He was a Baptist and a
U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his
wife, Virginia; a daughter, Mrs. Jack Smith of Texarkana; a
brother, Aimer Norwood of Cunningham; two sisters, Mrs.
Corene Wester of Washington, Ark., and Mrs. Juanita
Montgomery of South Gate, Calif.; and three grandchildren.2 3
