Nevil Smothers
HUNTINGDON - Mr. Nevil Smothers, 84, of Huntingdon,
Tennessee died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at his home.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, April 19,
2003 at 1 :00 P.M. in the Chapel of Dilday Funeral Home.
Interment will follow in the Carroll Memorial Gardens.
Reverends Lyn Staple-ton and Dean Seller will officiate the
services. Mr. Smothers, the son of the late Joel and Maude
Bradford Smothers, was born August 26, 1918, in Holladay,
Tennessee. He was a retired millwright, a member of the
Leach Full Gospel Church, a member of the Masonic Lodge and
a World War II Army Veteran. He was also preceded in death
by his wife, Mrs. Beulah Smothers who died in 1982. He is
survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Danny
Camper of Lexington; two sons, Wayne King of Lexington and
Mike King of Huntingdon; four grandchildren, Larry Sumler,
of Anderson South Carolina, Kevin King of McKenzie,
Tennessee, Jeff King of Huntingdon and Debbie Taylor of
Jackson, Tennessee; six great-grandchildren, Michelle
Sumler, Matt Sumler, Kodi War-man, Nicholas Melton,
Destinee Melton and Julia King. He also leaves a special
cousin, Leslie Smothers of Camden and several cousins who
reside in Illinois. The family will receive friends In the
chapel of Dilday Funeral Home after 2:00 P.M. on Friday and
on Saturday from 8:00 A.M. until time of service. Dilday
