WILLIAM SMOTHERS SERVICES IN LOGAN
Services for William Miles Smothers, 83, Logan, will be at
2 p.m. Sunday in the Logan Church of God. Hit Rev. Stanley
Joplin and the Rev. Barbara King will officiate. Burial
will be in Lo gan Cemetery. Friends may call at the Poulson
Funeral Home of Benton after 3 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Smothers
died at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in Union Hos pital m West
Frankfort. He was the son of the late Lawery and Elizabeth
Pinkston Smothers. He married Bertha Moore. He was a
retired miner, last working for the Peabody Coal Co. in
Springfield, and maintenance manager at the Lo gan School.
Mr. Smothers is survived by his wife: sons. Larry and
Everett cf Kincaid, Joe of Avis ton, Delmas of
Indianapolis, Ind., and Jack of Scottsdale, Ariz.;
daughter, ftlrs. Alma Mc- Cormick of Golconda, Mrs. Lola
Mccormick and Mrs. Mary Le- nave of Mt Vernon, Mrs. Lillian
Willet of Clio, Mich., and Mrs. Anna Wilson of Yorba Linda,
Calif.; 41 grandchildren, 63 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild, a total of 120 descendants.2
