Lymon D. Jordan
Services for Lymon D. Jordan 32, 2014 Sultana Ave. will be
at 3 p.m. today at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home, 2707
Gallatin Road. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Jordan was killed Thursday morning when the tractor-trailer
he was driving plunged off U.S. Highway 41 near Monteagle,
Tenn., and overturned down Monteagle mountain.
Truck Driver Killed on U.S. 41
Lymon D. Jordan, 32, of 2014 Sultana Ave., was killed at 10
a.m. yesterday when the tractor-trailer he was driving
veered off U.S. 41. a half mile south of Monteagle, Tenn.,
and overturned down Mont eagle Mountain. Investigating
officers said Jordan apparently lost control of the truck
while rounding a curve. They said the vehicle overturned on
Jordan when it rolled down the mountainside. Funeral
arrangements are incomplete. Burial will be in Spring Hill
Cemetery. The body is at Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home,
2707 Gallatin Road. Jordan was a native of Camden, Tenn.,
but had lived here for the last 18 years. He attended
DuPont High School in Old Hickory. In 1951 Jordan married
the former Sudie C. Shadrick of Nashville, who survives. At
the time of his death Jordan was employed by the Van
Hamlett trucking firm here. He was a Baptist. Other
survivors include a son, Donald Jordan, Nashville; five
sisters, Mrs. Lennie Landers, Akron, Ohio, Mrs. Lola Bond
and Mrs. Lottie Stewart, both of Los Alamos, N.M., Mrs.
Lela Barnes, Old Hickory, and Mrs. Lillian Polichany,
Dayton, Ohio; three brothers, Luther Jordan of Virginia;
Lewis Jordan, Livermore, Calif,; and Lloyd Jordan,
Nashville.1 2
