Mr. Virgil Brown Passes Away.
The sad news of the death of this good man will be
regretted by all who knew him. He was a member of the M E
Church South, W O W and a citizen that was the peer of any.
He died at his home near Thorn last Wednesday afternoon,
August 16th 1916. Fit words are not at our command to speak
of him. He was a man of fine character, a man who had
watched the changing years work, develop progress,
prosperity and educational advantages of the church and
state, and was a man who kept up with the progress. He was
widely known and highly respected for his resourceful and
able mind, as well as for the deeds of kindness, mercy and
gentleness that marked life's pathway.
He leaves a wife, one child, a brother and a host of other
relatives to mourn his loss. He was buried in George's
Chapel graveyard on the following day amid a large host of
people mourning his departure; with W O W honors.
We extend our sincere sympathy to the bereaved. Truly this
good man has gone on to mix and mingle with the saints in
the Celestial City of God.
